The Fios Team
Our team consists of three part-time employees who work alongside a volunteer editorial team, proof-readers and columnists who contribute their time to support the publication.
Fios was established over twenty-five years ago to help raise money for a sports centre to be built in Ness. This venue – Spòrsnis – became a reality in 2008. Since then, the newspaper has been edited and printed within Spòrsnis.
Fios is the community newspaper for north Lewis, written by the community for the community, to inform, entertain and when required — challenge the status quo.
